Accessibility Statement

How StepUpLaw keeps this website usable for everyone, and how to reach us if something is in your way.

Last updated October 22, 2026.

StepUpLaw wants every visitor to be able to read, use and book through this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard alone, magnification, voice control or a phone held in one hand. The audience for an estate planning site is often older, often tired, and often reading at night on a small screen, and the site is built with that reader in mind.

The Standard We Build To

The site is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act. In practice that means one visible heading structure on every page, text that resizes without breaking the layout, a keyboard path to every link, button, form and calculator, a visible focus ring, contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 for body text, labels on every form field, and alternative text on every image that carries meaning.

What We Do to Keep It That Way

  • Every build runs an automated check against the WCAG 2.1 AA rules, and the site is tested by hand with a keyboard and a screen reader on the page types people use most, including the booking page and the calculators.
  • Body text is set at 18 pixels, larger than most websites, and the layout holds at 200 percent zoom.
  • Tables that scroll sideways on a phone can be reached and scrolled from the keyboard.
  • The message button in the corner of each page announces itself to a screen reader, moves focus into the form when it opens, and closes with the Escape key.
  • Animation respects the reduced-motion setting on your device.

Where We Know the Limits

Some PDF downloads and older diagrams were produced before this standard was adopted, and a few third-party pages we link to, such as county clerk websites, are outside our control. If a document on this site is not readable with your assistive technology, tell us and we will send the content in a format that works for you.

Tell Us What Is in Your Way

If any part of this site is hard to use, email [email protected] or call (954) 357-1690 and say which page and what happened. A real person reads it. We aim to reply within two business days and to fix a reported barrier or offer the same information another way.
