Legal Tech

Most legal calculators exist to capture your email. These give you the answer.

Everything here is free, runs in your browser, and sends us nothing. Two of them you can install on your own site in one line. This is where the tools live, and where new ones land as they ship.

Calculators and Tools

Thirteen of them, each built for one question that kept coming up in consults.

Widgets You Can Embed

Built for this site, then packaged so anyone can run them. Drop in one line of script, or install the plugin build. Free to use, including on another firm's site.

Why a Law Firm Builds Software

Every tool here started as the same conversation happening twice in one week. Someone asks what probate will cost, or whether a gift just cost them a year of Medicaid, or how much of a Roth conversion they can do before the Medicare surcharge lands. Those are arithmetic questions with real answers, and making somebody book a call to get one is a poor trade for both of us.

So the answer goes in a calculator, the reasoning goes on the page behind it, and the consult is left for the part that actually needs a lawyer. The tools that turned out to be useful got packaged so other sites could run them too.

What These Tools Are Not

They are estimates. A calculator does not know about the second marriage, the property in another state, the trust that was never funded, or the beneficiary form that contradicts the will. Those are the facts that change answers, and they are the reason the consult exists.

Use these to get oriented and to sanity check what you have been told. Then bring the real facts to someone who can look at all of them together.

Questions

Are These Tools Free to Use?

Yes. Every calculator here is free, runs in your browser, and does not ask for your name or email to give you an answer. They are built for research and comparison, so treat the output as an estimate rather than advice about your own situation.

Can I Put One of These on My Own Website?

Yes, that is what the widgets are for. Each widget page has a one-line embed snippet, and the credit freeze and Roth conversion tools also ship as downloadable plugin packages. They are free to use, including on another firm’s site.

Do the Tools Send You My Information?

No. The calculators run entirely in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us or stored. If you later book a consult, that is a separate step you take on purpose.

How Current Are the Figures?

Every number comes from the deep page behind the tool, and those pages are checked against the statutes and the annual IRS and Medicaid figures. The date at the bottom of this page is the last review.

Attorney Kevin Klagge represents families, businesses, and international clients in estate and tax planning, business structuring, and international law, with a focus on Florida legal tools. He litigates estate and business issues in court. This page is general information, not legal advice, and using a tool on this page does not create an attorney-client relationship.
